Mr. Harry’s Chickin De-Lux Now Open
A new casual, family-friendly restaurant is now open in the Town of Mt Laurel, in the former Stones Throw location.
Chris Harrigan, the former executive chef at Stones Throw Bar & Grill, and Mt Laurel’s own Nick Pihakis, co-founder of Jim ‘N Nicks, have partnered to create a new restaurant concept, Mr. Harry’s Chickin De-Lux.
Mr. Harry’s menu is designed to appeal to adults and children, featuring traditional Southern-fried chicken, Nashville-style “hot” chicken, rotisserie chicken, chicken fingers, chicken wings, chicken salad, and chicken and dumplings. Other favorites include catfish, pot roast, hamburgers, and hot dogs, as well as sides, such as potato salad, braised greens, fried okra, and mac and cheese.
Harrigan’s recipes are inspired by the blazing-hot fried chicken from Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack in Nashville, Tenn., and the chicken-on-a-stick from 4 Corners Chevron in Oxford, Miss. He also puts his own spin on the thin-sliced fried catfish from Middendorf’s Seafood Restaurant in Akers, La., and the hot dog that the late Constantine “Gus” Koutroulakis served for decades at the old Pete’s Famous Hot Dogs in Birmingham, Ala.
Mr. Harry’s Chickin De-Lux is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays. Their phone number is 205-995-0512.
