The Wall Street Journal features Mt Laurel

The Wall Street Journal recently featured the Town of Mt Laurel in their article, “America’s New Small Towns: Housing Developments that Recreate Village Life.” Mt Laurel was thoughtfully designed to emphasize the most cherished elements in classic American small towns, so it is an honor for a leading national newspaper to recognize our efforts.

“In a shift away from gated golf-course communities, with their cul de sacs of Tuscan villas and Normandy castles, these ungated developments are designed to create a strong sense of place, with neighbors, a coffee shop and the town dentist all within walking distance,” describes writer Amy Gamerman. “Picture Andy Griffith’s Mayberry with high-speed internet.”

The Wall Street Journal interviewed resident April Mraz and photographed her arts and crafts style custom home. Mraz describes her morning commute by golf cart and meetings at Jimbo’s in the Town Center. “They know my special and get it ready as we are walking in,” she said in the article.

In the article, the Town of Mt Laurel was showcased along with Georgia communities Senoia and Old Town, and Habersham in South Carolina.
